Selvatica is an adventure you do not want to miss when vacationing in the Cancun area! An amazing adventure park located just outside of Puerto Morelos and only about 45 minutes from Cancun and Playa del Carmen. From zip-lines to cenotes and everything in between; this was by far one of the best activities we did while road tripping around the peninsula. They offer several different packages so that you can customize your visit based on what you would enjoy most.
We did the “Gimme All” package where we were able to experience zip-lines, a bungee swing, Tarzania (zipline coaster), Jungle Coaster (roller-coaster), a cenote, and our choice of driving a Polaris RZR or an ATV. The nice thing about Selvatica, is that you can have fun with the whole family, with their basic package allowing children as young as 3 years old to join in on the fun (*please note that children under 8 years old are limited to certain activities).
Please be aware of what is included in any of the packages you choose. Their website is very helpful in determining what is and isn’t included in your package. For example, most of the packages don’t include a locker, but lockers are available onsite to rent. There are also bathrooms and changing areas for your use. Additional food can be purchased at the end of your tour (we were grateful to have some delicious fajitas once we finished for the day). You can also purchase any photographs their onsite photographers take of your adventure at the end of your tour. Basically, know before you go!
My favorite activity we did was probably the zip-lines. I’m afraid of heights, so the bungee swing was a bit daunting for me, but once I got over my fear and swung off the platform, it was actually a ton of fun! The cenote at the end of the tour was quite relaxing and refreshing. (They give you time to change into a swimsuit before heading over to the cenote). I can see why they have this at the very end of the tour as it was a nice way to wrap up our day before heading back to Playa del Carmen.
Did I mention that they are also dedicated to helping their community by helping underprivileged school children, former juvenile gang members, and planting trees?! Part of what you pay will go to helping them support these three causes as they strive to make their area a better place for all.
Every single person we had any sort of interaction with while we were at the park was incredibly nice and helpful. We had the most amazing tour guide, Andres (more commonly known as Andrew), but after meeting a lot of the staff, I can guarantee that you will have a great experience with any of the guides they employ. I would highly recommend getting to know the workers you encounter while at the park, we had so many conversations with them about their lives and it made the experience even more meaningful for us. I even connected with one of the guides who had studied in Washington State (where my dad is from), which was pretty cool for me.
